We’re still in South Africa this week, and have traveled down to the Eastern Cape province for the Africa Open, held at the East London Golf Club.

The Picks

Dominic WarneDominic Warne (Senior Marketing Manager, EMEA)
Dom’s picks: Emiliano Grillo, Garth Mulroy, Scott Henry.

Pick #1: Emiliano Grillo
This guys got a lot of talent. Had good form at the end of 2012 and his top 10 in East London last year bodes well.

Pick #2: Garth Mulroy
The form continues. Still on home turf and playing great golf.

Pick #3: Scott Henry
Understated golfer who’s had a quiet start on Tour this year. Our Tour team wince at how far he hits the ball. Very open field so looking for Scott to pick up a good cheque.

Elliott PlattsElliott Platts (PR & Events – UK & Northern Europe)
Platts’ picks: Garth Mulroy, Niclas Fasth, Nick Dougherty.

Pick #1: Garth Mulroy
The South African has had an impressive start to the season, finished tied 9th last week and I am expecting that come Sunday, Garth will be right in the hunt for the Africa Open.

Pick #2: Niclas Fasth
The bookies may class Niclas as a massive outsider but I feel that he is coming into a little bit of form. He opened with a 67 last week and only narrowly missed the cut. Keep an eye out this week for the six time European Tour winner and former Ryder Cup player.

Pick #3: Nick Dougherty
I am going to stick with Nick as I do believe he will come good this year. He had a disappointing week at the Joburg Open and no doubt has been kicking himself since, so I am expecting a positive reaction in East London.

Mike ClarkMike Clark (Custom Fit Supervisor – Europe)
Mike’s picks: Garth Mulroy, Alexandre Kaleka, Niclas Fasth.

Pick #1: Garth Mulroy
Always safe to bet on a South African player in an event in their home country. Garth has played solidly of late with a good finish last week – he is in form.

Pick #2: Alexandre Kaleka
Still needs to find his feet on the ET but has the talent to do so easily. Events like these ones I feel are just right for him to find some form and record a good finish, maybe even a win.

Pick #3: Niclas Fasth
Going to go for experience this week for my last pick. Fasth is a strong competitor and I think it would be great to see him back up at the top of leaderboards regularly again.

Cameron de BuckCameron de Buck (Digital Marketing & Social Media – Europe)
Cam’s picks: Garth Mulroy, Emiliano Grillo, Craig Lee.

Pick #1: Garth Mulroy
My obvious choice for my #TeamCallaway Saffa pick – Garth has been in great form, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he grabs another Top 10 this week.

Pick #2: Emiliano Grillo
I still think Grillo is worth a punt, and that a Top 10 is just around the corner. Hopefully the windy conditions of the Eastern cape will suit his game.

Pick #3: Craig Lee
My outside pick is Craig Lee. Although the Scot missed the cut last week, his 2nd round of 68 in Joburg showed signs of promise, and like Grillo, I’m hoping he’ll be used to playing in windy conditions.

The Final Word

It seems Garth Mulroy’s recent good form of late has seen him become a firm favourite amongst our “expert” panel! But the usual blustery conditions of East London could throw up a few surprises. We’ll see on Sunday…
