Callaway has unveiled its new RAZR Hawk driver, helping to mark the debut of Forged Composite – the lightest, strongest and most precise material the company has ever used.

The performance characteristics of Forged Composite, a material developed in conjunction with Research and Development partner Automobili Lamborghini, has allowed Callaway engineers to develop a greater transfer of power at impact and more accurate trajectories versus its all-titanium predecessors.

Forged Composite has carried over in a big way to the new RAZR Hawk Drivers and RAZR Hawk Fairway Woods. Using Forged Composite in the clubhead helps the RAZR Hawk Driver retain precision and power, whilst weighing almost 6 grams lighter than its predecessor. It also allowed Callaway engineers to redistribute weight like never before, owing to the 23 million turbostratic carbon fibres.

The lighter clubhead facilitates a longer club configuration for faster head speed, ball speed and greater distance without sacrificing forgiveness. Through Forged Composite, RAZR Hawk Drivers are 43 percent more aerodynamic than the FT-9 Driver, leading to higher impact speeds for added distance. RAZR Hawk Fairway Woods feature Forged Composite in the crown for maximum distance, ball flight and feel.
Neil Howie, President of Callaway Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “Forged Composite represents another great innovation in the use of new materials and is the first product of our groundbreaking relationship with Automobili Lamborghini.”

Features:

Forged Composite
The sole and crown of the RAZR Hawk Driver contains more than 23 million turbostratic carbon fibers that reinforce 67% of the clubhead. This allowed engineers to precisely control thickness like never before, resulting in a clubhead that’s lighter, stronger than titanium but still has an extremely high moment of inertia.

Aerodynamic Head Shape
The RAZR Hawk Driver has streamlined surface contours to reduce energy loss from drag during the downswing by 43% compared to the FT-9 Driver. This creates higher impact speeds for added distance.

Hyperbolic Face Technology
A chemical milling process in the RAZR Hawk Driver selectively removes excess material for precision thickness control across the face to produce consistently high ball speeds for long distance.

Aldila Rip Grip Shaft
The RAZR Hawk Driver has an Aldila RIP Graphite Shaft with optimized torque and flex characteristics for better tip stability with great predictability, smooth feel and excellent control.

RAZR Weighting System
RAZR Hawk Drivers have the RAZR Weighting System; Draw and Neutral configurations allows golfers to choose the model that works best with their ball flight. Select models offer either Draw or Neutral configurations.
