Meet the most significant extension to Callaway’s Legacy family yet. Introducing the new performance-focused Legacy Black Irons, Driver, Fairways and Hybrids, crafted for the more competitive golfer looking for tour-level performance.
Legacy Black represents our finest expression of design excellence targeted at mid to low handicap golfers seeking equipment that offers premium and contemporary looks as well as features engineered to deliver both the Tour performance and uncompromised feel demanded by the better golfer.
The new ‘Black’ line has the design dial firmly turned towards performance and the feedback from golfers has been unprecedented, with Legacy Black becoming the No.1 selling Iron in Japan just a few weeks after launch.
Created by Callaway’s design guru Roger Cleveland, Legacy Black Irons feature a slightly compact head and employ Callaway’s Tour CC (competition conforming) grooves – found only in our premium forged products. This proprietary design adds 40% more grooves on the clubface through tighter spacing, which delivers increased spin for more aggressive shot-making.
The irons are created from Triple Net Forged 1020 Carbon Steel, with the Triple Net Forging delivering tighter tolerances and consistency, whilst the Carbon Steel delivers soft yet solid feel through impact – something that cannot be duplicated with a cast stainless steel product.
To complement the high-performance head, the Legacy Black Irons use advanced shaft technology developed by True Temper (the Taper Tip Dynamic Gold GS95 S200 lightweight steel) and high performance DD2 grips crafted by Golf Pride.
The all-new Legacy Black Titanium Driver, sporting aviation grade titanium and a powerful black PVD finish, is a product underpinned by its ability to create exceptional speed and power on every shot.
A highly refined chemical milling process that removes unwanted weight from both the crown and face of the club, allows for the centre of gravity to be perfectly positioned and the Driver’s powerful trajectory is subsequently geared to the more accomplished player seeking Tour-standard results.
With Forged Hyperbolic Face Technology delivering a precise, thin contact surface for consistently high ball speeds and the forged construction of the head giving additional responsiveness, Legacy Black is engineered with aggressive, results-driven play as a focus.
Completing the new line-up is the Legacy Black Fairway Woods and Hybrids that are also geared towards premium Tour distance. The high strength, ultra-thin Carpenter steel faces help to generate faster ball speeds and allow for saved weight to be re-positioned in the traditionally-shaped heads to aid powerful, penetrating ball flights.
